The gifted center fielder for University of Elos tagged opposing pitchers for a .639 average and was voted the Top JV Hitter Award for 1925. Included in his season stats were 46 hits, 2 doubles, no triples, no home runs, 6 runs scored and 6 RBIs.
For being named the SJV's top hitter, Viola will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. |  | Saturday, September 5th, 1925: 1925 SJV Top JV Pitcher Award Announced The Southern JV Conference has chosen Slim Nichols its premier pitcher for 1925. The Mist Tech reliever has been honored with the Top JV Pitcher Award for his outstanding mound achievements in the Southern JV Conference.
The 18-year-old relief ace stood out among his peers with no saves in no save opportunities. Nichols chalked up a 0 and 0 mark, no strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA in 0 innings. He shut down opposing hitters as he surrendered only 0 hits, no walks and a .000 batting average.
