Phillip Comeaux of the Geo Bahn Road Dawgs mixed his pitches well and fashioned a 6-0 shutout today. The 19-year-old hurler shut down the Kron'nul offense, holding them to 2 hits. He struck out 4 while walking 2.
In 13 starts this year Comeaux has posted 5 wins while suffering 4 losses. He has pitched 93.1 innings, allowed 83 hits, struck out 31 and has a 3.28 ERA. |
 | Friday, June 11th, 1926: Norman Bashes 5 Base Hits
What a day for Howard Norman of the Baltica Cosmonauts! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Crystalis pitching apart at Ballpark of Baltica and sparked the Cosmonauts to a 4-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Norman told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
H. Norman hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 10th, doubled in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
So far in 1926 Norman is batting .302 with 7 home runs, 39 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 77 hits in 255 at-bats and a .381 OBP. |
| Wednesday, June 9th, 1926: Correa Goes 5-6 Against Soni
All game long Baltica's Christopher Correa was rattling the walls at Ballpark of Baltica and banging out base hits against the Soni Hydras. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Cosmonauts had a 13-3 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 22-year-old second baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
C. Correa doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season Correa is batting .294 with 6 home runs. |
