| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 13th, 1926: Baltica Worried Unknown Won't Play Again
The Baltica Ducks clubhouse was subdued last night after Joe Unknown was seriously injured during the game. Unknown was taken to a local hospital for examination. This morning, doctors confirmed the preliminary diagnosis of a torn back muscle. They said Unknown will undergo surgery in the near future. This type of injury, they said, will require extensive rehabilitation. For all intents and purposes, his career in baseball is over.
It remains to be seen how Unknown's loss will affect the rest of the team. The Ducks owner, when reached for comment, said he planned to visit Unknown later today. "It is a sad day for us," he said, "We have lost a class individual. I hope that we can keep him in our organization as a coach or manager as soon as he recovers. Joe still has a lot to contribute to our baseball team."

It was a razor-sharp performance by Douglas Nida of the Geo Bahn Ruffnecks against the Baltica Ducks. He fashioned a fine 3-hitter in blanking them 3-0 and chalked up 5 strikeouts and no walks.
In 1926 Nida has fashioned a 4-7 mark, 2.50 ERA and pitched 93.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .206 against him and he has logged 47 strikeouts. |
| Saturday, June 5th, 1926: Sipos Goes 5-6 Against Riva
It was high-5 day at Geo Bahn Grounds, at least for Aubrey Sipos of the Geo Bahn Ruffnecks. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Riva Madness, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Sipos smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Geo Bahn still dropped the game 5-4.
His manager said, "Aubrey was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "Sipos bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame."
A. Sipos grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
This season Sipos is hitting .340 with 2 home runs.
