The Ridgebacks whipped the Drakes 4-3 at Ridgebacks Ballpark and Jeeves Wilson had a big hand in the win. The Ridgebacks first baseman came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Wilson and a tough day for Vestaur.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Wilson delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.
J. Wilson singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
To date, Wilson has collected 54 hits for a .432 average. He has posted 1 home run, scored 16 runs and driven in 13 runs. |

Vestaur starter Wade Gaudreau really did a number on the Stars today, shutting them out 6-0 on 6 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 5 strikeouts.
In his postgame comments, the Mastport manager said, "We didn't have good at-bats. I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting... seeing as our team has a bunch of pretty good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Wade... he did an outstanding job today."
This year Gaudreau has posted a 6-5 mark in 13 starts and has a 2.04 ERA.
